‘Jake’s Corner’ on Screens Next Month

    The Motion Picture Association has given “ Jake’s Corner” the movie made here in Gila County a PG-13 rating.  The big day is September 5th as Jake’s Corner premiers on screens in Payson  and also at Harkins Theatres in the Phoenix area and other theatres nationwide.
  Producers of the new movie are Jeff Santo, son of Chicago baseball player Ron Santo  and  Dan Marjerle, former basketball star who briefly appears in the film.
The main character is played by actor Richard Tyson.  Other stars appearing are Diane Ladd, Danny Trejo and nationally known singing star B. J. Thomas.
Jake’s Corner is about a former football star who moved to a small sleepy community known as Jake’s Corner.  It was filmed on location last year north of Punkin Center at Jake’s Corner Bar, which is a local tourist attraction.  Several Globe-Miami residents also had parts in the new picture including Globe’s Ted Quinn.
