Rescued Dogs Being Fostered in Globe Need Help and Homes

<—-click dog for AZ Chihuahua rescue
Hi! Our names are Koda, Charlie, Tillie and Tillie’s puppies. We are part of 800 dogs rescued in Tucson. We have been rescued by an organization called AZ. CHIHUAHUA RESCUE and are living with our foster Mom here in Globe.wdog2.jpg When we came to our foster Mom we were very frightened and scared. We didn’t know what is was like to be outside and we were even afraid of the grass. We have been with our foster family a week now and we love it outside. We like to cuddle and we really love our special doggie treats.
Our foster Mom could use some help. She needs puppy pee pads (Tillie has five babies) some good quality dog food (preferably Iams dry or canned), paper towels and Clorox. Please no money. If you would like to make a donation you can do so at azchihuahuarescue.org. If you are interested in adopting one of us and giving us a forever home full of love and attention you may fill out an application with our name on it at this same web site. Some one will contact you as soon as possible. If you would like to donate some of the above named supplies you can drop them off at the Copper Country Newspaper. The website has pictures and a lot of information on it. Thank you for helping us and our foster family. Here is a bit of information from our foster Mom.
I am fostering eight of these dogs that were rescued from horrible neglect and cruelty. There were over 800 dogs in crates, and up to 10 in a crate. They were housed in barns and a doublewide trailer. Some of them have never been outside.
wdog5.jpgArizona Chihuahua Rescue is a non profit organization that is run by donations only. So far we have been able to rescue about 150 dogs ranging from older ones, to very young ones. Some are pregnant and some need a lot of medical attention. AZ. Chihuahua Rescue covers spay and neutering, microchip, shots, dental and any other medical procedures.
If you would like to donate items to help my foster puppies and the other 150 please take your donations to the Copper Country Newspaper and the nice ladies will see that I receive them.
You can also go online to see some of the other dogs up for adoption and ones that will be ready soon. If you would like to adopt one of these great dogs fill out an application online and add the dogs name you are interested in, or just put any. There is a fee for adopting us, and it is used to help other dogs in need. We hope we can count on our community to help all these little dogs in need.wmomdog.jpg
Thank you from,
Charlie, Koda, Tillie, (her babies) and from our foster Momww1dog71.jpg

FROM SILVER HILL

By Donna Anderson

This week I want to tell all of you, “Thanks for your help.”
You see, it is kind of interesting that just the other day, I was talking to Kip Culver, Main Street Director and key person in helping the community recover some of its lost treasures. We were discussing the tiny octagon-shaped tiles that make up the floor of the old depot building, how replacements needed to be made and how difficult it is to get them to fix the floor.
Then, it came time to draw tickets for the raffle the Gila County Historical Society and the Center for the Arts had sponsored to help raise funds for the restoration of the old depot building. So we counted everything up and drew out the names of the winners and in totaling everything up, Kip said, “Well, with the money from this raffle, we can pay for the tile job on the floor.”
One step at a time - that’s how we get things done - one step at a time. So, all of you who helped with this effort, we want to say “Thanks for your help.”
Winners in the drawings were Bob Ressler of Miami, first place; Tommy Thompson, second place and Peggy Dunn, third place.
Our special thanks go to Karen at Hot Topics Printing, who donated the printing of the tickets as her contribution to our restoration efforts, and to Bill and Kathryn Schminke, who came down and drew out the winning tickets for us. We also must give appreciation to those who made the effort to get these tickets sold so we can continue our projects.
Some of you may wonder if our efforts at improving our historic district are worth it. Well, I can give you a good example. As one of the things done a few years ago, we planted trees around the Center for the Arts and along Broad Street, to soften the appearance of the street-scape.
We had quite a response this year when all the trees again bloomed so beautifully. We actually had travelers who saw the downtown area from the overpass pull off into the historic district to take pictures of the blossoming trees - they were that pretty.
So again, I say thanks, but this time to all the people who are volunteering hours and hours of their time every week to make our city more beautiful and more interesting. We are getting there!

He was recently in three soon-to-be-released movies: “Jakes Corner,” the “Fugitive Chronicles,” and the “Angel of Death.” Watch for him in a commercial for Phoenix International Raceway that runs on most major T.V. and cable channels. He was also in a public service announcement for Gila County. Ted, who is also a personal trainer at Globe Gym, says if you want to find success in a small town like Globe you have to make your own work by networking and being committed to your dreams.

Stacy Dillard speaks to audiences around the world.Stacy Dillard speaks to audiences around the world.

A series of meetings with evangelist Stacy Dillard begins Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Globe Christian Center on Maple Street north of Globe High School. The meetings will continue Monday through Wednesday, March 31 - April 2, at 7 p.m. nightly. The public is welcome. Dillard’s messages are spiced with joy and humor, but carry a serious purpose. “We all have real problems,” he says. “Jesus has real answers.”
Dillard was a “military brat” as a teenager, playing “catch-up” basketball in faraway countries. “Without Christ, I got in trouble and disgraced myself,” he says. He moved to Tempe, hoping to be picked up by the Phoenix Suns, but found himself “adopted” by a largely-Hispanic church instead.
“I couldn’t figure why they loved me,” says Dillard. “I had totally rejected God. Meeting Jesus changed me completely, and gave me a purpose for life.”
Dillard was a pastor in the U. S. and Malaysia. He began evangelism as a rap singer but wound up preaching. He says, “When you preach the truth of God from your heart, from your own changed life, then faith rises up in people, and Jesus heals bodies and changes lives. That God could rescue my broken life and use it to help others - that’s a real miracle.”
