Your New Property Taxes

Now that all of the real property tax rates have been set, let’s recap some of these to show how they will appear on your new tax bill that you will be receiving shortly.
Gila County: The new property tax dropped from $3.92 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation from last fiscal year’s $4.11 rate. The big increase in county wide assessed valuation from $453 million to $513.4 million this year had a lot to do with this decrease. For Gila Community College, the rate dropped from 59 cents to 56 cents.
Cities and Towns: The town of Miami increased from $3.27 to $3.68; Globe’s rate dropped from $1.30 to $1.29 while the city’s assessed valuation increased from $38.1 million to $41 million; Winkelman was down to $4.40 from $4.59; Payson’s primary tax rate dipped from 25 cents to 22 cents and its secondary property tax rate also went down from 10 cents to 6 cents. Payson’s new assessed valuation is $224.4 million which is up more than $23 million from last year. The town of Hayden had a huge drop in its property tax rate as the result of its assessed valuation going from $5 million to $12.6 million. Hayden’s new rate is $5.54 compared to $13.82 last fiscal year.
School Districts: Miami Unified School District’s primary rate increased to $3.85 from $3.64 but the secondary rate was down to $1.28 from $1.30; Young’s primary property tax rate went up to $7.24 from $6.68; Tonto Basin increased to $5.68 from $4.71, Globe Unified School District’s primary property tax rate dropped from $2.75 to $2.48 while the secondary rate also went down to $l.31 from $1.47; Hayden Winkelman’s primary rate decreased to $4.78 from $4.90 and the district’s secondary rate slid from $1.30 to $1.28. For the Pine/Strawberry School District, the rate went up to $4.00 from $3.71 and in the San Carlos Unified School District its secondary rate decreased to $1.43 from $1.51
Local Fire Districts: Tri-City dropped to $1.49 from $1.60; Canyon increased to $2.20 from $2.05; Tonto Basin up to $3.06 from $3.01 while Pleasant Valley increased to $1.14 from $1.01.
Globe-Miami Street Lighting Districts: Miami Gardens dropped to 88 cents from $1.02 while Apache Hills went to $2.46 from $2.45.
