Amelia Jimenez Songer, age 68, of Globe-Miami passed away in her home on July 2, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her parents Helen Contreras Jimenez and Jose De Jesus Jimenez, her brother Jose Jimenez and her late ex-husband Dale Howard Songer Jr. (Grizzly)

She is survived by her son Shawn Joseph Songer (Bryanna), her daughters Angel Marie Gibson (Erika) and Teresa Ann Bracy (Charles), her seven grandchildren Shaggy Songer, Amelia Songer, Lydia Wheeler, Katie Wheeler, Helen Bracy, Skyler Bracy and Hilda Bracy, her brother Louis Jimenez, and her sisters Mary Garcia, Yolanda Jimenez and Teresa (Teddy) Lott.

She was born and raised in Globe-Miami and graduated from Miami High School in 1973. She was a DES day-care provider for many years. She was also known as Momma Lita to her babysitting kids. She also worked for the Blue Ribbon Cafe. She would help anyone who came into her life and made them feel like they were her own. She loved to watch Christmas movies, crime shows, Homesteaders, YouTube farming and D.Y.I. shows. She loved all types of music, and her favorite things were cows, unicorns and hummingbirds. Her favorite color was purple and she loved red roses.

She wore her heart on her sleeve. She had a huge impact on anyone who came into her life and forever changed their lives with the love she showed them. She always said that her greatest accomplishment was her three children and her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart.

Services will be held Saturday, August 13 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Miami, with Rosary at 9 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. A reception will follow next door.
