Randy Bengtson recently won four tickets to Boyce Thompson Arboretum, which offers nature walks and guided tours throughout the year.

Gila County Economic Development Corporation’s representative JoEllen Davis recently presented the passes to Bengtson.

Davis is a member of a task group of the EDC that manages a movie discount at Hollis Cinemas in Globe on the first Friday of each month. Next season’s raffle prize is for therapeutic work at Desert Oasis Wellness Center.

Throughout the year, 12 local businesses sponsor a $2 discount for persons 60 years in age or older to view the first showing of a movie on the first Friday of each month. When this is added to the discount by Hollis Cinemas, a person can view a movie for $4.

The task group meets at Aviant Hospice’s meeting room twice a month on Thursdays.

Check with the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce, at 928-425-4495 for information on dates for those interested in joining the Cobre Valley Active Adult Alliance, a task group of the Gila County Economic Development Corporation.

CVAAA volunteers foster services, information, and quality of life for adults in the Globe-Miami area.
