Gila County Public Works’ Engineering Department advises drivers to plan ahead for road closures and a detour next week when Arizona Eastern will be re-building the railroad crossing near Hoopes Road and Pinal Creek Road.
The road will be completely closed to traffic starting Monday Feb. 24 at 6 a.m. lasting through Wednesday Feb. 26 at 5 p.m.
Expect closure from the intersection of Bixby Road and Pinal Creek Road to the entrance of Cemex Materials on Pinal Creek Road. During the project all local traffic will be detours through Pinal Creek road via Escudilla Drive at the Central Heights turnoff. Arizona Eastern is working under a right of way permit on a county road.
