Boyce Thompson Arboretum is open with limitations


Boyce Thompson Arboretum (BTA)has various limitations in place in order to better promote the safety of visitors who want to enjoy the beauty the arboretum has to offer.

BTA has updated the temporary limitations on visitation with regard to the national state of emergency.

Anyone exhibiting symptoms of flu, cold or viral infection will not be admitted.

All visitors are required to wear protective masks to enter any enclosed space, including the Gift shop and restrooms.

All visitors are asked to observe signage and adhere to social distancing protocols.

All walks, tours, activities, events and programs are cancelled until further notice.

Currently our staff and volunteers are:

Periodically sanitizing contact surfaces

Routinely hand washing

Utilizing protective face masks

Practicing social distancing

Boyce Thompson Arboretum encourages all community members to follow the advice of the CDC when choosing whether to visit any outdoor venue.

The Arboretum’s leadership will continue to monitor the situation and make informed decisions based on information released by trusted sources, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization and Arizona Department of Health Services.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum is located in the Sonoran Desert and is home to a variety of lush desert gardens, which all have a considerable degree of seasonal beauty for you to experience. This makes visiting at any time of the year advantageous for visitors who are both local and from around the globe.

Regardless of the season in which you visit, make sure you prepare yourself accordingly. If you are visiting in the summer months, make sure to pack plenty of water to stay hydrated. Always stay on the trails and watch where you walk as wildlife often crosses the trails.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum is a place for the whole family!
Arboretum Members receive waived admission as the gardens become a frequent destination. 

General Admission is $15, children ages 5-12 $5, Members are free.
