As of 2:25 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, a flash flood watch is in effect from 11 p.m. MST this evening through Wednesday afternoon, for the Yavapai County Mountains and Northern Gila County — Yavapai County Valleys and Basins-Oak Creek and Sycamore Canyons; including the cities of Payson, Young, Prescott, Seligman, Ash Fork,  Strawberry, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Cordes Junction, Bagdad and Sedona

Another wet winter weather system will bring moisture to northern Arizona Tonight through Wednesday. While most of the precipitation will fall as snow over the higher elevations, heavy rainfall amounts over already saturated parts of Yavapai and northern Gila county could create localized flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch Means That Developing Conditions May Lead To Flash Flooding Within The Watch area. People — especially those

located along area creeks — rivers or other flash flood prone areas — should continue to monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action should flash flood warnings be issued.
