Candelario “Cande” E. Guzman, 90, of Casa Grande, Ariz., passed away with his family by his side at his residence in Superior, Ariz. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019. He was born on March 4, 1929 in Casa Grande, Ariz. to the late Abram Guzman, Sr. and Rosa Marie Estrada.

Cande was drafted by the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict as a combat engineer. After serving two years, he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He attained employment with Southern Pacific Railroad which he retired from after 42 years.

Cande was preceded in death by his sisters Connie, Socorro, Ruth, Jessie, and brothers Salvador (Chavo) and Leo, daughter Anna Marie Guzman, and granddaughter Priscilla Guzman Perez. He is survived by his wife Martha B. (Duarte) Guzman, sons Eric (Natalie) Guzman, Sammy Guzman and family, Leonard (Jaque) Guzman and family, Candelario Guzman, Jr., daughters Rebecca “Becky” (Joe) Vasquez, Cuz “Dolly” (Gaby) Cons and family, Grace (Ray) Perez and family, Candida Guzman and family, Sister Tonia Ronquillo and Brother Abram Guzman, Jr. He also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. 

Services for Cande will be held Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11 Church Ave, Superior, Ariz. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., followed by Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery. The family was assisted with exceptional service by Superior Funeral Home.
