In the upcoming elections the following local offices are being contested. Five candidates are running for Gila County Sheriff in which four are Republicans and the fifth one is a Democrat.
The Republicans are incumbent Sheriff Adam Sheppard along with Ronald Hanse, Richard Shaw, Darrell Stubbs and Democrat Christopher Bender.
All three members of the Gila County Board of Supervisors who filed for re election have challengers. Incumbent Republican Supervisor Tommy Martin will be up against Republican Hallie Overman-Jackman in the August primary election.
District Two Republican Supervisor Tim Humphrey faces Democrat Fred Barcon in the November General Election. Also in the General Election District Three Republican Supervisor Woody Cline is being challenged by Democrat Bernadette Kniffin.
Long time Gila County Treasurer Debra Savage who filed for re election will be facing Republican Monica Wohlforth in the November general election.
Looking at the Globe city council races
District Two Globe city councilman Mike Pastor filed for re election, but faces Dan Schinder in the August primary who also filed for the office.
District Five Globe city councilwoman Charlene Giles filed for re election However David Rodriquez filed as an opposing candidate in the primary election.
