CASA of Gila County has been in existence since 1988, serving more than 624 children, with volunteer advocates putting in more than 34,519 volunteer hours.

The mission of CASA of Gila County is to empower each CASA volunteer to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children of Gila County who are involved in the juvenile dependency courts.

The program promotes and supports community-based volunteers, certified by the Arizona Supreme Court, which provides quality advocacy to help ensure each child victim is in a safe, permanent, nurturing home.

Changing lives and making a difference for a child has had a lifetime impact for many foster children. Arizona currently has more than 18,000 foster children.

While most children are busy making family memories, foster children attend court hearings, adjusting to new foster homes and transitioning to new schools.

That’s a heavy burden for a child to carry. CASA heroes are dedicated to helping make the child’s dream of a safe and loving family a reality.
