City of Globe holding Citizens Academy

Posted

The City is holding a Citizens Academy where any resident of the City can sign up and attend six two-hour classes. In these classes they will meet with Council members and City department heads to learn about what we do, how decisions are made and the hurdles that we face as a government. Each night they will meet with a different department director and Council member to learn about the Fire Department, Police Department, Public Works, Finance and more. It’s going to be very hands-on! So if you want to climb the ladder truck, take a field sobriety test or learn how the City can and cannot spend money, this is for you! (Also note: It’s free and each Department will feed you!)

The first class starts October 13. If you are interested you can learn more by going to https://www.globeaz.gov/home/news/citizens-academy; you can fill out the PDF application attached there or just call Shelly, our City Clerk, at 928-200-8535 and she can help you!
