Copper Cities Rotary receives Literacy Award

Posted

Luke Kannegaard recently received the Literacy Award on behalf of Copper Cities Rotary Club from Rotary Assistant District Governor Dick Kroese, for the club’s participation in several literacy projects.

Some of these include giving dictionaries to second grade students every year, the four-way speech contest offered to high school students and the story walk project in front of Bullion Plaza, in Miami.

This is one of three literacy awards presented to local Rotary Clubs in Arizona. Basic education and literacy is one of the six areas of focus for Rotary International and is at the heart of Miami Copper Cities Rotary Club. Copper Cities Rotary also partners with Miami Head Start with reading to preschoolers on a regular basis.
