Copper Rim Classes for parents, too!

Posted

Elementary schoolers aren’t the only ones learning life skills at Copper Rim this month: parents dropping their kiddos off for school Nov. 5 and each Tuesday morning this month are invited to free workshops from 7:45 - 9:15 a.m. or a lunch hour class that lasts from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Classes follow the ‘First 5’ curricula, teaching parents about ages and stages of development from birth to age five and effective discipline that young children can understand.

Parents also learn ways to prepare their elementary schoolers for scholastic success using mindfulness to keep your cool and more tools from the proven series of Active Parenting workshops sponsored in Globe by First Things First and the Arizona Youth Partnership.
“We scheduled the 7:45 class for parents dropping off their children in the morning, and the 11:45 slot will be for parents who have children in the afternoon preschool class.

We meet in the music room, where we’ll have coffee and a healthy snack/meal in the morning for the parents  and extra children, if they have kids with them and we provide lunch for parents in the 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. class,” said Charlene Becker, Parent Educator with the Arizona Youth Partnership. Classes are free; sign up or ask questions with a call to 928-812-0555.
