Globe — CV Foundation Presents the 2017 Art and Wine Auction Featured Artist:
Dara Heward, of Dara Heward Photography, is a self-taught photographer based out of Arizona. She specializes in outdoor, nature, wildlife, travel, and landscape photography, as well as high-resolution motion time-lapses. She searches for wild, offbeat destinations and landscapes, and likes to tell stories through pictures of these natural environments. Her passion was shaped by a childhood where she was constantly playing outdoors and around animals.
With a background in Ecology, she inspires to share the natural world through her lens and collaborate with adventurers, scientists, and other photographers. This beautiful piece is a 20”x40” photograph on metal that she took on one of her many adventures - Havasupai. Dara wrote about her trip:
“We began our decent down the switchbacks and into the limestone-sandstone gradient. Slowly, the sandstone started becoming increasingly abundant until the canyon was filled with a burnt red sandstone rock. Amazing huge rocks! Rocks shaped like waves! Rocks that tell time and tell a story traced by water. The more we descended down and the canyon walls got taller, that’s when it hit that this trip was so much more than seeing the blue-green paradise that waited below. This landscape was incredible and the lush environment reminded us of what it meant to be alive!”
This photo really shows us all the beauty of that landscape, and that feeling of being alive. Valued at $300.00, it would be a beautiful statement piece for any room, office, or living space!
Dara produces high quality prints of her beautiful work on canvas, metal, and wood. She also does panoramas and split designs. If you are interested in reaching out to Dara you can contact her directly at [email protected]
The CV Foundation would like to thank Dara for her donation and for agreeing to be our featured artist. We would also like to thank the many artists who have generously donated pieces of art to the CV Art and Wine Auction to be held on November 3, 6:00 p.m., at the Gila County Fairgrounds. These funds are used to purchase equipment and technology specifically for patient care and staff training which strengthens the healthcare services in our communities.
Along with many superb pieces of art for sale, in both the silent and live auctions, the night will include several wine tasting stations, a beer garden, historic photos, and much, much more. The fairgrounds will be transformed – sending us all back to the 50’s.
Tickets are on sale now for $20.00, or $25.00 at the door. For more information, to purchase tickets, or to become a sponsor for this event please contact Melissa at 928- 402-1230.
