EAC Gila Pueblo Campus introducing “Med Tech” program this month

GLOBE - If you are an experienced CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant), a new program coming to the Gila Pueblo Campus of Eastern Arizona College will provide an opportunity to enhance your career ladder.

Classes begin March 20 for the college’s Certified Medication Assistant “Med Tech” Program (NUR103/NUR103G). Students who complete the program will qualify to take the state exam to become a Certified Medication Assistant (CMA), through the Arizona Board of Nursing.

Prospective NUR103/NUR103G students must have worked as a CNA or LNA for at least six months, have a valid LNA license and no outstanding complaints or restrictions on their license. Applicants must also be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or GED, and must present proof of current AZDPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance. In addition, applicants must present proof of a TB immunization or chest X-ray, hepatitis B vaccine series, MMR vaccine and COVID vaccine or exemption letter.

EAC Gila Pueblo Campus Late Start Class begins March 20, 2023. Financial aid is available for students who qualify. EAC offers a tuition waiver for students 55+ who have lived in Arizona for over a year.
