GLOBE - Globe’s famous Easter Parade remains scheduled for Saturday, April 11, only this year’s parade will be presented virtually. The Globe Downtown Association would like to invite residents to get dressed up and take pictures for social media on the day of the parade. As the country continues to adjust to new social distancing protocols due to COVID-19, it will be nice to see some smiling faces on social media celebrating Easter in true Globe fashion.
“We are taking the event virtual,” said Molly Cornwell. “Tea party at home dressed in your finest. Take-out from one of our local restaurants tucked into a vintage picnic basket and enjoying social distancing among the poppies? You choose Easter your way and show us what your doing.”
The idea is to post pictures of hats, smiles, sidewalk chalk drawings, rainbows, eggs, baskets and more. “Plan a picnic at home or somewhere you feel safe!” said Cornwell. “The Easter Bunny wants to see all of your happy faces in the future, so let’s help him out this season.”
