Elizabeth Ann Morrison-Turney, 73 of Globe passed away at Haven Health of Globe on February 9, 2018 after a long illness.

Ann was born in Globe, AZ on January 23, 1945 to Chuck Morrison and Evelyn Robertson-Morrison. She attended Globe schools and graduated from Globe High School in 1963.  She attended Lamson Business College in Phoenix, AZ and also took many classes at Gila Pueblo College in Globe.

In 1968 she met and married the love of her life, Charlie Turney.  Ann spent most of her married life as a homemaker and mother.  She was involved with her children’s Girl Scout troop and baseball teams and was always a very encouraging and supportive mother.

She also worked for several years as a travel agent at Fly-A-Way Travel in Globe before retiring.

Ann enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing and spending time with her family. She loved to cook and bake. She also had a deep interest and keen knowledge of gems and minerals as well as jewelry making. She and Charlie spent much of their time prospecting and collecting rocks and creating beautiful wire wrapped jewelry.

Ann loved animals and respected wildlife.  She loved her two little dogs, Pug and Baby. She strongly supported animal rescue and welfare efforts.

Elizabeth Ann Turney is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Morrison. She leaves behind her devoted husband of fifty years, Charlie Turney, a daughter, Jean Turney-Shaw (Stephen), three sons: Charles Turney, Jr., Patrick Turney, and John Colson, three grandchildren: Jeanine Shaw, William Shaw, and Madison Turney, a sister-in-law, Faye Morrison, and multiple nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at noon Saturday March 3, 2018 at Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum or the High Desert Humane Society in Globe.
