Elvin Richard Quarles

Elvin Richard Quarles, born in Old Copper Hills on March 23, 1938, peacefully went home on Aug. 7, 2018.

Elvin was a loving husband to his wife Alice for 63 wonderful years and a loving father to his five children. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955 and received an honorable discharge in 1959.

Elvin was a Jack-of-all-trades and a master at welding, crane operator and mechanic. He enjoyed many other activities including classic cars, dirt track racing, watching his grandchildren race Go-Karts and spending time with family and friends.

Elvin was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Leona Quarles and niece Linda Powell.

Elvin is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Alice F. Quarles; one son, Richard (Ronalee) Quarles; four daughters, Patricia A. (Michael) Sosh, Debra F. (Aaron) Nichols, Tammy J. (Kyle) Dixon, and Lori M. (Vernon) Hoosier; as well as 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and many loving friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Aug. 25, 2018 at the Adult Activity Center located at 579 S. Broad St., Globe, Ariz. 85502 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for friends and family.
