GLOBE — SYMTP is excited to present Disney’s Lion King Jr.!
The African savannah comes to life with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle... and back again. The musical showcases your favorite songs like “Hakuna Matata” and “Circle of Life.” You won’t want to miss this inspiring, coming-of-age tale!

In partnership with Globe Unified School District, Lion King Jr. will be performed in the newly renovated theater of High Desert Middle School. Showtimes are: Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. Friday, March 6 at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
Unique in the history of SYMTP, the cast of Lion King Jr. boasts nearly 60 local children from first grade to ninth grade.
We are proud to announce that our committed staff is joined by eight talented and enthusiastic teenage mentors, who have been instrumental in coaching our cast.
In addition to our public shows, our cast will have the privilege of performing four school shows for roughly 2,000 children in Globe-Miami’s public schools.
SYMTP’s accomplishments were made possible by the support and help of a great number of community individuals, clubs, organizations, businesses and larger corporations.
We are especially grateful to Freeport-McMoRan for their special support of our Year of the Lion Project, which includes our intensive leadership program and makes possible our four school shows. SYMTP continues to be thankful to United Fund of Globe-Miami for their ongoing support of the Arts Exposure Outreach Program.
Our outreach team has already served over 1,300 students in the local elementary schools this school year. And we are looking forward to serving more children this spring. Hakuna Matata!
