Frances M. Collins, 93, passed away peacefully at home in Globe, AZ surrounded by family on December 11, 2017.  She was born on Easter Sunday April 20, 1924 to parents Beulah and Frank Tomasek on a farm near Smithfield, NE.  She was the oldest of three children.

While living in Santa Ana, CA in 1970, she met and married Tommy E. Collins. They were happily married for 46 years.

Frances enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She made many quilts with love that she gave to family and donated to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother and husband, and was also the family historian, sharing many stories and photos over the years that have united us and illustrated our family’s resilience.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Tommy, son Gary Shipley, daughter Yvonne Kay Shipley, mother Beulah Tomasek, sister Rosemary Ritchey and brother Frank Tomasek.  She is survived by her grandchildren Fernando (Denise) Shipley of Globe, AZ, Rita Shipley of Bisbee, AZ, step-daughter Tish Collins of Sacramento, CA, daughter-in-law Gloria (Mario) Lopez of Oracle, AZ, four great-grandchildren (Jesse Verdugo, Branden Shipley, Austen Shipley, and Caresa Shipley), and niece Cathy (Wayne) Evers of Pensacola, FL.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Lamont Mortuary Chapel in Globe, AZ.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley, CO.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Frances’ name be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

We love you Grandma and we will always carry your memory in our hearts COLLINS
