Gardening and Landscape at Gila Community College Gila-Pueblo Campus

Gila County Community College and University of Arizona Cooperative Extension will offer AGR 230 “Gardening and Landscape” in Globe this fall semester 2018. Classes will be held at the Gila-Pueblo Campus, 8274 S. Six Shooter Canyon Rd., Aug. 23 to Dec. 13, Thursdays from 1-3:50 p.m.

The instructor, County Extension Agent Christopher Jones, will have expert guest speakers from Gila County and the University of Arizona lecture and provide hands-on activities to make this course exceptionally informative and well-tailored to southern Gila County.

The cost for the course includes standard tuition and fees required by Gila County Community College, and $50 for the textbook. Those age 55 years or over may qualify for a senior waiver.

Aug. 22 is the last day for late registration. This class also provides the training and opportunity to become a Master Gardener volunteer for Gila County. A Master Gardener receives certification after successfully completing the course, registering as an official UA volunteer and remaining active by conducting at least 50 hours of volunteer educational service in the following 12 months.
