Youths throughout Gila County are invited to create unique new art projects following the theme “Recycling and Our Environment” for an annual contest sponsored by Gila County’s board of supervisors.
Entries are due April 19 and will be displayed at the Gila County Courthouse with winners named on April 29. Entries should focus on what Arizonans can do, as individuals, schools, and communities, to protect and enhance the natural environment.
There will be three contest divisions: K-4 art projects can enter drawing, coloring, and other media, while grades 5-8 are challenged to create an engaging poster or essay (poster, drawing, collage, photographs, or an essay of 200 words or more). High School aged artists in grades 9-12 may also enter a poster, drawing, collage, display of photographs or film and edit a video public service announcement or monologue.
