Nominations for the Golden Service Award are open now, with nomination forms or letters being accepted until the deadline of 5 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the award.
Designed to recognize a senior citizen for many years of dedicated volunteer service to local nonprofits, schools, museums, churches and more, the winner will be announced at the chamber’s annual dinner on June 22.
The Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce makes this annual award to recognize the work being done by the many volunteers in the community and the huge contributions in time and talent they give.
To be eligible, the nominee must be at least 60 years of age, retired and have demonstrated a long-time pattern of volunteerism.
A nomination form is available at the chamber or online at, www.globemiamichamber.com. Letters are also acceptable, but should include extensive information on the type and length of volunteer work, as well as contact information for the letter writer.
The annual dinner will take place on June 22 at the Dream Manor Inn. Tickets are $35 per person.
In addition to the Golden Service Award, the Business of the Year will be announced.
