Herbert “Cleo” Hill

Cleo passed away on Sept. 14, 2019 at home, surrounded by family, at the age of 70.

He was born on May 29, 1949 in Wakefield, Nebraska to Neal “Jim” and Edna (Jacobson) Hill.

The family moved to Arizona in 1969 and shortly after, Cleo began working for Inspiration Copper Consolidated Company. He worked in the local mine as a welder/pipefitter/boilermaker where he retired in 2009.

In his younger years, Cleo was a part of the Vigilantes and enjoyed building the town and putting own shows for everyone. He was also a huge Chicago Bears fan and could be found watching them play weekly during football season.

According to him, every year was “their year”. Cleo is survived by his mother, Edna, his sister Donna Caldera (Frank), his daughters Dawn Polkabla (Matthew) and Stephannie Hill, grandchildren Brianna, Antwain and Trace, and two nephews Christopher and Ben Caldera. He is preceded in death by his father.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Living Waters Church 125 E Haskins Road Globe, Ariz. with a luncheon to follow at the Globe Elks Lodge 1910 E Maple Street in Globe.
