Herman Lee Tickle Jr. of Mesa passed away on Dec. 11, 2018, at Banner Desert Samaritan Medical Center following his battle with cancer.

He was born on Feb. 4, 1952, the son of Herman lee Tickle Sr. and EvaLee Dunford. He was raised and attended schools in Miami and Globe. A member of the Globe Junior High Band playing tenor sax, as well as a member of the Boy Scouts Troop II.

He joined the Army in 1970, assigned to the Signal Corps, trained in electronics and communications.

He worked as an electrician while working at Inspiration Consolidated Copper Co. starting in the early ’70s, eventually working as an industrial/residential electrician. He had worked a part time evening DJ at KIKO radio. He enjoyed being a private pilot and was a licensed HAM radio operator.

He was preceded in death by his father Herman Tickle Sr. 

He is survived by his wife Carol Tickle; mother EvaLee Black, brother Joey Tickle, all of Mesa. A sister Becky Mc Bride of Odessa, Texas, two half-brothers and three half-sisters. His five children Rhonda Tickle, Ryan Tickle, Regina Picket, Randal Tickle, and Renee Tickle all of Roanoke, VA, two step-daughters, Heather and Misty, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were provided by Melcher Chapel of the Roses, Mesa. Interment was Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at Globe City Cemetery Globe.
