Dear Editor,
First of all. Thank GOD!! On Tuesday the 9th a fire started on Smith street and quickly ran up the hill where my Mom lives on Woodrow street. She was engulfed on two sides by fire and was not even aware of the danger.
A policeman rang her doorbell and informed her of the fire and escorted her and her dog to police car parked down the street. We wish to thank each and everyone involved in saving my Mom’s home. Crews from Miami, Central Heights and Globe fire departments responded. GOD bless you all!! It’s so refreshing to see neighbors pull together and act like family when things get difficult. And a special thanks to the Mexican man helping with a water hose. We don’t know who you are, but GRACIAS.
