Indalecio “Joe” Cruz

Indalecio R. “Joe” Cruz, Jr. age 79, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on April 11, 2021 at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.

He was born in Alice, Texas on July 27, 1941, the son of Jose Indalecio Cruz and Manuela (Rodriguez) Cruz, and raised in Alice. He moved to Globe in 1958 when he met his late wife Lois C. Cruz, who passed in March of 2017.

Joe began working at a young age. His first job was seasonal cotton picking, then he began working in the oil fields for Elk Wells. His last job was for The Kings Ranch before moving to Globe, the hometown of his late wife Lois, in 1958. Joe was the owner of Dr. J’s Precision Auto Service.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family and listening to Tejano music. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and loved going to the car races in Wheatfields.

Joe is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Lois C. Cruz, his parents Jose Indalecio Cruz and Manuela Cruz, his brother Ramon Cruz and his sister Belia Cruz.

Joe is survived by his children Minnie Cruz, Joe Paul Cruz (Vicky Jo), Yvonne Curiel (Javier) and Melissa Cruz, and his siblings Emilia Garza, Diana Cardona, Grace Aguilar and Ernesto Cruz.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 23, 2021 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church.
