Janet Rose Ashkie

Janet Rose Ashkie, 49, of San Carlos entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2021 at Banner Desert Hospital surrounded by her children and family at her bedside. Janet was born on Aug. 14, 1971 in San Carlos to Pearlita and Morris Ashkie. She had two younger siblings who adored her. Janet had received her G.E.D. and was a certified nursing assistant. Family was important to Janet. Janet was blessed with four children; two boys and two girls, who she cherished. She was an amazing grandma to four children, two grandsons and two granddaughters. She enjoyed being outdoors and going on long walks. She looked forward to family trips to create new memories with her grandkids, nieces and nephews. She was the life of the party, no matter her age. She was always sixteen at heart. She was passionate about music. She loved to dance and lip-sync every song. She would love to tell jokes. She enjoyed making people smile and laugh; it brought joy to her heart knowing how happy she could make you feel. She also had an obsession with large tote purses. She would carry everything and anything in them; no matter how heavy they would get she would continuously add nick-nacks. Her favorite flower was a rose. There was just something about them that caught her attention; she loved them.

She had such a great personality, always so high spirited. Her absolute favorite color was black, because it’s every color combined almost like a rainbow. She couldn’t just choose one color, so she picked them all. She was preceded in death by her mother Pearlita Ashkie in May of 2021. She is survived by her father Morris Ashkie, her sister Chris Ashkie-Belknap, her brother Melvin Ashkie, her four children Amber Thompson, Monique Pechuli, Mac Monroe and Devin Monroe, her four grandchildren Kaia Thompson, Emmanuel Thompson, Amias Pechuli and Venty Pechuli, and her nieces and nephews Zach Ashkie, Tori Taylor, Kiera Belknap, Mason Belknap and Madissen Belknap.

She was loved, admired and will be missed. Her services were held on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at the Grace Lutheran Church. Assisting the family; McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel of Safford, Az.
