Jesse Dean Olson, 70, passed away in Globe, Arizona on January 7, 2018 with his wife at his side.

He was born February 25, 1947 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Oran Thurston Olson and Mina Mary Olson.

When Jesse was a young boy, his family moved from Oklahoma to a farm in South Dakota where he grew up learning to become a very hard worker with high aspirations.  

At the age of 14, he drove himself down to Texas to work construction during summer break. 

In 1965, he graduated from Blunt High School, after which he attended the University of South Dakota, later joining the U.S. Navy as a corpsman.

Jesse married Linda Gail Brigham and they had 4 children. After leaving the Navy, he entered Arizona State University.  

Upon graduation he entered Medical School at the University of California, becoming a Podiatrist. He later joined the U.S. Army as a Captain and was stationed in Tennessee and Washington before leaving the military again. He moved his family back to Arizona, working in private practice but later chose to reenter the Navy, moving up to the rank of  Lt. Commander.  

When Jess left the Navy in 1994, he went into private practice, and later set up practice in South Dakota where he could also help care for his aging mother.  

In 2012, Jess came back to his beloved Arizona to be the Podiatrist for the San Carlos Hospital, where he met and worked with his future wife, Peggy Evans, a Registered Nurse.

Jess taught himself to make bio diesel fuel and last year began teaching himself to play the piano.  He loved his place in Fort Thomas where he could garden and tinker with new projects.

Jess was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Julian.  He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, and her family; his children, Chad (Tiffany) of Lombard, Illinois, Jarrod of Phoenix, Arizona, Jeslin (Scott) Jones of Longmont, Colorado, Kyle (Joi) of Santa Barbara, California; 2 sisters, Connie (Mike) McCosky of St. Michael, Minnesota, Camilla (Joe) Rajewski of Ocean Side, California; 3 brothers, Calvin (Melody) of Mitchell, South Dakota, John (Karla) of Lakeville, Minnesota, Randy of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Jess is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Liliana, Kallen, Brinley, Jaylin, Miles and Ryaver as well as nieces and nephews.

Jess will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Lamont Mortuary in Globe, Arizona.  Interment with Military Honors was held at Globe, Cemetary.
