JSHCD a great success

On June 16, the Homeless Coalition of Cobre Valley in collaboration with the Gila County Homeless Taskforce and Gila County Community Services held the Jason Sanchez Homeless Connect Day at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Globe. It was a very successful event. We would like to thank all the resources that participated. The event was able to connect the homeless and the at risk of being homeless with resources that can help. We would like to thank the Maranatha Baptist Church, especially Larry Toner, for allowing us to use their facility. The presence of the EAC nursing students was extremely beneficial. Thank you to Azteca Glass for providing the mobile shower, RAM Specialist for the wash basins and D.J.’s Companies for the Porta Johns. Also, thank you to all the volunteers. It takes a collaborative effort to address issues that deal with homelessness. Every situation is different and needs to be addressed on an individual basis. The event gave hope to many people in difficult circumstances. The God-inspired music by Extol brought comfort. Having all the resources in one location was beneficial for this. The coalition will continue to work with helping those in need.
