Karen Dale Bowyer

Karen Dale Bowyer passed peacefully on Jan. 13, 2023 surrounded by family at home in Globe, Az. Karen was born to Elvie and Betty Carroll in Charleston, West Virginia on Nov. 4, 1948. When Karen was 16 years old the family moved to Globe, Az. in 1964. Soon after she married her husband Robert Bowyer when he returned from his tour during the Vietnam War.

Robert and Karen married in March of 1965, had three children and made a home. Robert and Karen loved dancing, camping and going on little trips by themselves or with grandkids.

Karen worked for Globe Unified School District from 1975-1992 as a bus driver, loving her job and all the kids that she saw every day. After retiring from the school, she worked for Apache Gold Casino from 1994-2017. Here she made many friends and considered everyone her family as they treated her and loved her as family.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents Elvie and Betty Carroll, and her brothers Brian Carroll and Wayne Carroll. She is survived by her husband Robert Bowyer, her sister Jill Poarch, her daughter Kimberly Bowyer, and her sons Robert Bowyer and Brad (Rachel) Bowyer. She will be dearly missed by all her grandchildren; Megan (Johnny) Martinez, Aron Roberts, Destiny (Aaron) Dawson, Sean (Berenise) Bowyer, Bryanna Taulfa, Mishelle Bowyer and Cody Bowyer. Mawmo will also be missed by her great-grandchildren Presley Martinez, John Martinez, Brady Bowyer and Bodhi Bowyer.

Karen loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all of her extended family back east. Her family was her world.

Karen (Mawmo) will be deeply missed as she was the heart of the family. We all know she will be looking down on us and will guide us through our lives each day.
