Learn Your Lizards, Sept. 8 and 29 at Boyce Thompson Arboretum

Posted

Arizona Game & Fish wildlife biologists helped launch one of the most innovative and popular watchable wildlife programs drawing families to Boyce Thompson Arboretum: summertime “Learn Your Lizards” walks. There will be two more walks, taking place Sept. 8 and 29 from 8-10 a.m.

Attend a tour guided by Casa Grande outdoor educator Phil Rakoci to learn why some little reptiles have azure abs. Boyce Thompson Arboretum is an ideal place to observe native reptiles such as Tree, Side-blotched and Greater Earless Lizards while learning about their behavior and Sonoran Desert adaptations.

Meet at the Visitor’s Center Breezeway, Boyce Thompson Arboretum, 37615 E. US Highway 60, Superior, Ariz.

Weekend events at Boyce Thompson Arboretum bring weekly opportunities to learn about plants, birds and critters from a variety of expert guides, each with a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge.

September hours are daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. (no entry after 2 p.m.). Starting Oct. 1, daily hours return to the fall-winter schedule of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (no entry after 4 p.m.).

Most weekend events included with $15 daily admission, $5 for ages 5-12.
