Lena M. Richardson was taken to be with her Lord and Savior on January 29, 2018, in Globe, AZ.

Lena was born in Palo Verde, AZ, to John J. Schultz and Mattie Lenora Banks on September 15, 1922.

She was provided a forever home by Arthur and Josephine Wood. Lena was raised with two brothers, Weldon and Junior.

Lena enjoyed playing softball as a child and would often fondly recall how her teammates would refer to her as "Lea pin' Lena."

Later in life, she discovered many other talents including sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren, crocheting and creating numerous customized dolls representing everything from princesses to animals.

Lena was also quite musical. She shared her vocal talents with the community through a radio program and her church. Her family has many fond memories of her playing and singing at the piano, with her favorite song being "Silent Night."

Lena was married to her loving husband Gail K. Richardson, sharing 70 beautiful years together until his passing.

Lena was a full-time homemaker and raised their three children - Kenneth Gail Richardson, Gaila Curry, and R. Christian.

Lena is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gail K. Richardson, her brothers Weldon (Edie Bell) and Junior Wood and her son Kenneth. She is survived by her two daughters, Gaila (Leo) Curry and R.
