Loretta Shepherd, age 91, passed away in Lakeside, Arizona with her family by her side on Friday, January 5, 2018.
She was born on February 27, 1926 in her grandmother’s house in Winkelman, Arizona.
As she was raised throughout Arizona, she often claimed the whole state of Arizona as her stomping grounds.
In 1946, she graduated from Globe High School. She was the first one in her family to graduate high school and felt this was a great accomplishment.
She worked in clerical positions or as a book keeper for most of her life.
Loretta loved spending time with her family and had a great sense of humor. Her family has many fond and happy memories of her time with them. She had a great artistic talent in both drawing and painting. Scrapbooking was one of her favorite hobbies and she has left many memories documented in them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Edith Eakin; her twin brother, Laurence Eakin; and her husband, Harvey Shepherd.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Gabler and Rebecca Rodriguez, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Pinal Cemetery, 7667 Golden Hill Rd., Central Heights, AZ 85501.
