Majorie Villie Shoemaker McKusick, born June 15, 1930, went home to be with her Lord on September 7, 2017.

She is survived by her brother David Shoemaker and his family; her three children, Brian McKusick, Eve Wickizer, and Ilona ter Horst; and their large families, including 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces/nephews and their children.

Born in Globe, Ariz., she moved to the Philippines in 1933, surviving Diphtheria, Malaria, and Amoebic Dysentery, to return to Globe in 1941 because of WWII.

She married Paul in 1948 and spent 46 years building houses with him. In 1995 they retired and moved to Virginia to live with Boyd and Eve;

Paul worked for Ukrops and Margie pursued her passions of reading, writing including the Borderland trilogy, researching and stargazing, as well as loving God and her family. She lived intensely for 87 years. She never quit until God called her home.

A memorial will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Globe, 318 S. Hill St. Globe, Ariz. at 11 a.m. on October 14, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the USO, the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Smile Train, or to a charity of your choice.
