Miami Loco Arts Festival issues call to artists

Posted

The Miami Loco Arts Festival is coming to downtown Miami April 21-23, and artists who would like to participate are invited to submit their works.

Interested artists can submit for a variety of shows – ranging from “Just Desserts,” celebrating the opening of a new soda fountain in Miami, to a multimedia exhibit on fires and floods at Bullion Plaza Cultural Center & Museum. Artists can also set up their own booths at Miami Loco to show and sell their work.

Submissions are welcome in the following shows:

“Thrive,” an open call group show open to all media, from painting to performance, at the Miami Art Works gallery. The Miami Arts Commission is looking for 1-3 pieces per artist.

“Just Desserts” – Please feel free to take this show’s theme literally or figuratively. The Miami Arts Commission is looking for 1-3 pieces per artist.

“Fires and Floods,” a show of images, stories and video of the fires and floods and their impact on the community. Include your photos, videos and experiences in this historical show at Bullion Plaza.

“Student Teacher Show,” open to students and teachers from kindergarten through high school, as well as home school and community college students. We would love to include your work in our Student Teacher Show.

“Not into themes” - There is limited wall space and window space available throughout town that is available for artists to show in. Some shop owners are also willing to feature guest artists in their stores.

“Site-specific works” – If you’ve ever been to Miami, you know there are a lot of cool spots around town. If you have a proposal for a site-specific installation, please email us samples of your work and a proposal.

“Video Art,” a show of projected video art works. If you would like your work included please email us samples of your work and a proposal.

Miami Arts Commission is also looking for artists who would like to set up booths at Miami Loco. If you would like to set up a booth to show and sell your work, email for more information.
