Miami Senior Center news and update Jan. 9-15

MIAMI — The Miami Senior Center at 506 W. Live Oak St. offers lunch Monday through Friday. Call 928-473-4190. Cobre Valley Transit Rides 928-473-8222.

The suggested donation is $2 for ages 60 and up. People under 60 can also enjoy lunches for $4 and are welcome any time. Anyone 50 and older can come and enjoy the crafts and activities and are welcome any time.

Thursday, Jan. 9 —Bingo 10:30 a.m.

Menu: Pork chops, stuffing, peas and carrots, rice pilaf, garden salad, ambrosia

Friday, Jan. 10 — Coffee club 8-10 a.m., Karaoke 10:30 a.m.

Menu: Spinach lasagna, mixed vegetables, garden salad, bread sticks, mixed fruit

Monday, Jan. 13 — Coffee club 8-10 a.m.

Menu: BBQ chicken, Mexican beans, potato salad, wheat bun, apricots

Tuesday, Jan. 14 —Loteria 10:30 a.m.

Menu: Albondigas soup, wheat tortilla, corn and black bean salad on lettuce, peas and carrots, Spanish rice, pears

Wednesday, Jan. 15 — Coffee club 8-10 a.m.

Menu: Mac and cheese, Italian veggies, beets, wheat roll, applesauce

All meals are served with 1 percent milk.

Miami Senior Center cannot deliver homebound meals without authorization from a case manager. Many people believe that they just have to call the center to receive a meal, but they must be referred through Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens. Call 1-800-293-9393.
