The Globe-Miami Citizen of the Year (COY) Award is an annual award of the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce. The recipient(s) shall demonstrate a pattern of long-term volunteer service (5 years at a minimum) within the community, such work being in a variety of areas that may include (but are not limited to) youth/senior groups, churches, community projects and programs, unpaid government service, non-profits, etc. Citizen of the Year honors shall be awarded to those who have demonstrated a willingness to volunteer in the community. Paid positions shall not qualify for consideration for COY honors, except to the extent that the nominee goes “above and beyond” in duties.
The Kip Culver Award recipient(s) shall demonstrate a deep appreciation of the arts and history/historic preservation, backed up with a proven track record of their hard work and dedication. This award is based on the type and depth of work benefitting the arts community and/or historic preservation efforts in Globe-Miami.
