Patricia "Patty" Chavez passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on November 24, 2017 in Mesa, Ariz. at the age of 75.

Patty is survived by her daughters; Angelina Simmon and Deborah Gaylor, her brother Tory Iverson, sister Carol Shipley, her five grandsons, Michael Simmon, Alberto Twitchell-Simmon, Tobias and Isiaac Solis, Ernest Simmon-Chavez and her two granddaughters Jennifer Leslie and Michelle Schooley.

Patricia was born on June 11, 1942 in Jefferson City, MO to Maurice and Bonnie Iverson. She married Harold "Chi-chi" Chavez, the love of her life on May 4, 1996.

After moving to Roosevelt, Ariz., Patricia began a career in heavy highway construction.

Over the next 20 years, the couple welcomed all of their children into their home and set about teaching them an appreciation for the outdoors and all it has to offer. Her children remember her as a kind, honest, proud and driven mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Patty was a feisty, generous, witty and dedicated woman who loved her family and who was passionate about seeing them succeed.  Patricia loved the outdoors and everything it had to offer. She held a world record for fishing and was never happier than when she was with Chi-chi on the water.

She was an amazing cook and kept an immaculate home. She was loved and respected by everyone who knew her.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on December 9, 2017 at Roosevelt Lake Resort.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Patricia's life
