Please donate decorations, toys or cash for Miami Small Town Christmas

It’s almost here again - Miami’s Small Town Christmas is just a month away, and now is the time to help Christine Duarte and other volunteers beautify Miami for the holiday season. Christine asks that if you are considering upgrading your old Christmas trees or decorations, please donate them to the Town of Miami rather than throwing them away. Your donations will be greatly appreciated. You can drop them off at the Miami Senior Center or call Christine Duarte at 928-458-6373 to arrange pickup.

What are Miami’s holiday-spirited elves asking for? More Christmas trees, more decorations, lots of lights, more glitter and candy canes. And toys! There is also a Toy Drive to benefit Miami Small Town Christmas; your kind and generous help will make the holiday bright for the children in our community. Organizers ask for donations of new and unwrapped toys for children ages 0-17. Drop-off locations are at the Miami Senior Center or Miami Police Station.

If you are out of town and would like to help, you can send a donation to Shelley Dalley-Perry or Christine Duarte; for instructions call 928-458-6373. You may also purchase toys at Walmart.com for pickup at the Claypool Walmart. Use the name Christine Duarte or Shelley Dalley-Perry as the pickup person.

This is a challenging time for many families who could use your generosity. If you can, please help us to spread hope and cheer during the season of giving.

Last year the generosity of our community, extended family, friends and alumni of Miami allowed Santa to distribute more than 500 toys to children who attended the Small Town Christmas event. Every year it gets bigger, as more families are touched by the generosity of their community. This year the Small Town Christmas event is scheduled for December 18.

Please give now, if you can, so that we can ensure that Santa will be able to bless all of the children with a new toy! Questions? Call 928-458-6373.
