Positive Parenting Workshops Once-a-Week

Posted

Want to help your children develop self-discipline, responsibility, cooperation and problem-solving skills? Take a class and begin to take a more positive approach, with helpful coaching from UA Cooperative Extension. The new Tuesday series began Nov. 26, parents who missed the first class are still welcome at free workshops continuing weekly Dec. 3, 10, 17 and 19; Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. at High Desert Middle School.

Adults taking the class are reminded to sign-in as a guest at the school office when you arrive each Tuesday. If you have 90 minutes on each of five Tuesday mornings, The Positive Parenting program will reinforce your ability to mix kindness with firmness, dignity and respect cementing skills that help reduce kids’ problematic behaviors - and strengthen a child’s life skills.

Learn to bridge communication gaps, defuse power struggles, enforce your message of love, build on strength instead of weakness - and win cooperation at home and also at school. Workshops are also a chance to meet and chat with other parents once-a-week in an informal group setting, during these 90 minute sessions.

Please RSVP by phone or email to Cate Gore, University of Arizona Instructional Specialist, 928-402-8589 or cgore@email.arizona.edu.
