Preparing Child Care Providers To Keep Kids Safe Free COVID-19 Training for All Caregivers in Arizona

Posted

The Association for Supportive Child Care (ASCC) is providing free virtual training to all child care providers to help minimize the risk of COVID-19 in preschools, child care centers, and home-based settings. The training includes basic information about COVID-19 guidance when caring for children during the pandemic, and how to help prevent the spread of viruses. This training is free to all child care providers as a result of funding from the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

“Keeping kids safe and healthy is our first priority,” commented Nicole Newhouse, ASCC CEO. “We know child care is essential for most families and crucial for the recovery of our economy. We are committed to doing our part to ensure caregivers have the support and training they need to help kids, families and providers feel safe in child care settings.”

This virtual training is offered several times a week, including on Saturdays, is available to licensed and non-licensed caregivers, and is available in both English and Spanish.

About The Association for Supportive Child Care

The Association for Supportive Child Care (ASCC) was founded in 1976 as a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to shaping the future of Arizona by enhancing the quality of care for children. Every program at ASCC meets a unique set of needs within the childcare and early education field. The foundation of brain development starts before birth and continues through adulthood. However, in the first few years of life, more than 1 million new neural connections are formed per second. Vision, hearing, language and higher cognitive function are at the peak of development from birth to five years old.

The Association for Supportive Child Care (ASCC) works passionately to ensure that young children have the foundation they need to lead happy, successful, productive lives. We are fueled by our core values of the relentless pursuit of challenge, excellence and humility to provide support, training, education, and professional development to the entire spectrum of those that care for and educate young children: parents, family, friends, neighbors, child care providers (both regulated and unregulated), early childhood educators, administrators, and leaders.
