Globe — Rose Baca’s Preschool held its graduation ceremony at Haven of Globe on May 26. Approximately 60 people and residents gathered to witness this year’s ceremony.

The graduation class included Andrea Shirkey, Caiden Pearce, Camila France, Clarissa Curiel, Garrett Gregory, Kylee Westbrook, Madison King, Makenzie Plant, and Olivia Jarvis. The ceremony began as Olivia led the graduation march while proudly carrying the U.S. Flag. She was followed by Makenzie, who carried the Arizona State Flag.

The children recited the Pledge of Allegiance in English and Spanish, and then recited a verse about our American Flag. Chaplain Roger King led the audience in an opening prayer. The children responded to a Spanish quiz, and answered several questions, including who is the president of the United States, who is the governor of Arizona, and other questions about Arizona.

They identified letters, numbers, and months of the year, followed by identifying the 50 states. The graduates presented a bouquet of flowers to their parents, then proceeded to sing 15 songs they had learned. This was followed by Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Salas presenting the diplomas and awards. A special award was presented to Makenzie Plant for having perfect attendance for all nine months of the school year.

The young graduates honored our country in a special way. Each child held a wooden letter, which spelled “America,” and recited a brief verse. They each held a small American flag and sang “Glory, Glory, Hallelujah.”

The ceremony included with a “So Long, Farewell” performance, and the children then presented a bouquet of flowers to Haven of Globe for allowing them to hold the graduation ceremony in their facility. The ceremony concluded with the children singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” and “Buenos Dias Paloma Blanca.” A special graduation party was held at DeMarco’s. It was a beautiful conclusion.
