Ralph Casillas passed away quietly on Monday, April 2, 2018 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona after a prolonged illness at the age of 69.

Ralph is survived by his five sons: Ralph Casillas (Marilynn), John Casillas, Eric Casillas, Matthew Casillas, and Christian Casillas; his brother Frank Casillas (Rebekah) and his sister Adeline Marie Moran (Gus); He also has 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews, and many other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Frank Casillas, his mother Alice Ruiz (Manuel), and his younger sister Melissa Ruiz.

Ralph grew up in Globe, Arizona with his loving family. He attended Holy Angels Catholic School and Globe High School. He worked at the mine throughout his life as a journeyman diesel mechanic, working for Miami Inspiration, Pinto Valley, ASARCO Ray, and for Road Machinery over the course of his career.

Ralph was a musician to the very depth of his soul. He played guitar and had an amazing singing voice. He worked with multiple local bands and taught his brother to play keyboards, so he would always have a keyboardist. The two even toured the country with their band playing music. He also taught his two youngest sons to play guitar, and they share his love of and talent for music. Music was his love. He enjoyed it passionately, and he is likely still enjoying it.
