Sondra Katherine Blasius, born in Globe, Arizona on Sept. 26, 1942, said goodbye to her beloved family and friends as she was united with her Father in heaven on the glorious morning of Dec. 14, 2022. She was the loving daughter of Ruth Virginia Austin and Melville Fraser.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gerald “Gary” Blasius; their four children Shawn, Shane, Parrish (Maureen) and Heidi (Jeff); grandchildren Gavin Hugo, Tandra, Megan, Cody, Cassie, Shelby, Kailee, Noah, Kieri, Nashasabi, Rohnan and Heston; great-grandchildren; and her younger brother Kelly.
Sondra worked in numerous jobs throughout her years, but finished out her working career at the Vail School District as a teacher’s assistant to special needs children. Sondra was given the gift of compassion and she always wanted to put a smile on a child’s face. She gave many stray cats and dogs a loving home. She was an avid reader, and was impatiently awaiting season five of “Stranger Things” to watch with Rohnan, Heston and her great-granddaughter Issie.
She will truly be missed. Services were held by her family on Jan. 6, 2023.
