Looking for a ‘one-stop meeting’ chance to connect with representatives from a dozen different agencies and nonprofits offering social services to Globe-Miami and Southern Gila County residents?
Jan. 8 brings a productive 90-minutes worth of Wednesday morning networking, and all are welcome from 9:30 to 11 a.m. when Southern Gila County Network Team members meet in Central Heights at 5515 South Apache Avenue.
Meetings repeat on the second Wednesday each month; attendance usually represents a cross-section of agencies, organizations, groups and businesses that provide services to the public.
Guest speaker for this month’s meeting is Onika Mathews, Youth Coalition Coordinator with Arizona Youth Partnership for Gila county.
“I am working with the program Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking (STOP). Just as the program name implies, we are striving to not only inform our community but also prevent the use of alcohol with our minors,” she wrote, describing her topic.
These once-a-month meetings also bring a chance to share news about upcoming events, opportunities for community involvement; to voice issues or concerns, or ask other attendees for ideas or assistance.
Participants describe team meetings as a great way to network and build collaborations.
