GLOBE — The multi-talented New Odyssey will be performing on Tuesday, March 27, at High Desert Middle School Auditorium, located at 4000 Desert Dr., Globe.

New Odyssey is a cover band from Chicago playing all types of music from across the decades including today’s top hits (playing everything from the Bee Gees and Beethoven to the Blues Brothers and the Beatles). These songs are performed on 30 different musical instruments including a pocket trumpet, accordion, sousaphone, melodica, banjo and bass trumpet, to name a few.

They have been together more than 30 years, playing venues as diverse as performing arts theaters and corporate events to festival beer tents.

Gary Todd, drummer and comic, has been involved in show business since age two when he started performing as an acrobat with his family act “The Tumbling Todds.” He also sings and plays more than 15 musical instruments.

Michael Jay began singing and playing guitar at age 12. By the time he was 21, he was playing bass, composing music for his own bands and performing alongside national recording artists. Jay has done TV and radio commercials, was musical director of a local play, is involved in music ministry at his church, and once sang the National Anthem for the Chicago Cubs. As well as playing 10 instruments, he is the vocal strong point of the band.

Gary Polkow began his piano training at age seven. By age eight he was rewriting and performing traditional classical children’s pieces. His list of credits includes film credits, synthesizer sound design, music and choir director, as well as the musical director of New Odyssey.
