Thank you for being here today to honor and remember Tina Vasquez, who was born on June 13, 1972 and took her spot in Heaven on Jan. 4, 2023. On behalf of Tina’s family, I’m going to share a bit about her life and who she was as a person.

Tina lived in California for thirty-three years before moving to Arizona in 2005 to be with her father, Rudy Vasquez. Over the years, she worked in a hardware store as a paint mixer and cashier. Tina had love for her freestyle music, like the eighties, which was her favorite style of music to listen to. Her favorite sports teams to cheer on were the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Dodgers, and her favorite shows to watch were Little House on the Prairie and Roseanne. Tina was also funny, with a great sense of humor, and her older sister, Michelle, and others even compare her to Queen Latifah. Tina always loved to cook for her family and have get-togethers, and her favorite dishes to make were enchiladas, albondigas and ceviche, all foods that everyone salivates over. She would always have her nails done in dark red and be donning her signature dark red lipstick, waterproof mascara and black-dyed hair, and she always wore hoop earrings, her favorite cross necklace and a personalized necklace with a picture of her mom and dad inside. She loved her dogs Chulo, Mandy and Poppy, and her cat Patches.

Tina was a mother to three children, two girls and one boy, and a grandmother to four kids, three girls and one boy, whom she loved spending time with and supporting in everything they do. She’d also teach them how to speak Spanish and how to dance. Tina was also a sister, daughter, aunt and friend. Her spirit and memory will live on in everyone she knew and loved and in those who were lucky enough to know and love her back.
