The town of Miami held their annual Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11, 2020. The masters of ceremony was former Mayor and Veteran Darryl Dalley.
The honored Veteran was Jeffrey (Jam) Massingill. Jeff was an army veteran and was with the 82nd airborne division in Fort Bragg North Carolina. Jeffrey had passed away earlier this year. His brother Scott Massingill spoke on behalf of the family.
The newest Veteran is Lance Corporal Garrett Santa Maria. He graduated Miami High School in 2019 and joined the Marine Corps the same month. This is the town of Miami’s 13th year of hosting the Veterans Day ceremony.
